Our latest coverage of Picard season three includes an exclusive interview with showrunner Terry Matalas, in which he looks back over season three. This includes some red-hot spoilers for the final episodes of the season, so set the feature aside until you have seen them all. You have been warned! We also speak to Todd Stashwick (Captain Shaw) and Ed Speleers (Jack Crusher).

Not one but two animated Star Wars shows to talk about this month. Lucasfilm high-up James Waugh tells us about adding studios from Chile, France, India, Ireland, South Africa, South Korea, Spain and the UK to the mix for the second season of anthology show Star Wars: Visions. He also talks about doing a Muppet Babies on the galaxy far, far away with Young Jedi Adventures, a new series aimed at under-fives.

Author Hugh Howey's Wool Trilogy is coming to Apple TV+ in May. Showrunner Graham Yost tells us how they brought the books' subterranean post-apocalyptic society to the small screen. Thankfully it didn't involve a lot of digging.

Fear the Walking Dead

As the spinoff zombie show faces the final curtain, we catch up with showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg and actor Lennie James about season eight. We're pretty sure everyone will live happily ever after.

Remember our "Heroes & Inspirations" regular? We'd forgive you if you didn't, as it's been a while since we did one... Anyway, we've dusted the format off for a nice long chat with Lockwood & Co star Cameron Chapman about his cultural loves – from Wes Anderson to the Wu-Tang Clan and expressionist painter Mark Rothko.

Doctor Who

The Third Doctor (holding one of the Master's face masks) and Jo Grant.

Our series of Doctor Who features in the run-up to the 60th anniversary continues, as we have a chinwag with the irrepressible Katy Manning (much-loved companion Jo Jones – née Jo Grant).

And that's not all, feature-wise! We also look forward to season two of From with co-showrunner Jeff Pinkner and star Harold Perrineau, chat to X and Infinity Pool star Mia Goth, and look back at 1987's Batteries Not Included with director Matthew Robbins. Suede bassist turned novelist Mat Osman is the subject of our regular author profile, and we get Justin Cronin to fill in our questionnaire.

Red Alert

Sweet Tooth's Wendy, Earl Elephant, Gus and Maya Monkey.

And the big features are just the tip of the iceberg! As ever, our news section, Red Alert, is crammed with insights into yet more movies, TV shows, comics and books. In the spotlight this month: how they brought sea witch Ursula to life for The Little Mermaid; the return of Sweet Tooth; the latest take on JM Barrie, Peter Pan & Wendy; and Prime Video's gender-swapped TV take on David Cronenberg's Dead Ringers. We also talk to actor David Dastmalchian about his love of comics (and his own creation, Count Crowley), and preview new Star Trek, Buffy, Doom Patrol and Nick Fury titles.
